I was born in Mollepata, at the foot of Salkantay. I started as a muleteer at fourteen and today I guide the route I crossed so many times with my father. I walk every group at my pace: the mountain's, not the clock's.
Andes Explora started in 2014 with one mule, one tent and my brothers' friends as the first clients. Today we are six guides, all born in the region, and we still go out in small groups.
Before every departure I check the weather and the state of the pass. If something is not right, we change the route or the date: I would rather lose a day than put a group at risk.
